Salt Whisky Bar and Dining Room

82 Seymour St, Paddington, London W2 2JB, UK – 020 7402 1155

This is a very good restaurant. It provides shisha outside costing around £15-£22. It is an Indian Restaurant. The food served here is hot and tasty. Whisky is also very good.

I went for the whiskey, and the selection was fantastic. Can't imagine it's fun to eat there as they had a DJ playing house music really loudly. Didn't try the shisha but it was super popular with people waiting for tables. Great bar!

The Churchill Bar and Terrace

Hyatt Regency, 30 Portman Square, Marylebone, London W1H 7BH, UK – 020 7299 2035

Atmosphere is cool in this smallish bar with a terrace for the odd smoke. Hotel price drinks which can be expensive for some but i guess no riff raff to spoil your night.

Very nice place with comfortable leather seating throughout and a semi hidden outdoor terrace. Heat lamps and blankets in the winter. Excellent drinks. A bit pricey but to be expected given location and vibe.

De Hems Dutch Cafe Bar

11 Macclesfield St, London W1D 5BW, UK – 020 7437 2494

A great bar. Been going since the 80s. Good beers and food. Pleasant staff always on hand. Has a great history too.

Cracking little bar beers from all over the continent really friendly and helpful staff was lovely and quiet the beer menu was a great help and surprisingly cheap

Sartori Restaurant & Pizzeria

15 Great Newport St, London WC2H 7JE, UK – 020 7836 6308

Great food. Authentic taste. Pizzas are amazing. Staff are friendly and welcoming. All round brilliant restaurant!

Friendly staff. Nice food. Basement a little dark. Sadly we asked for child's.portion of plain spaghetti, received a bowl my daughter would deed from for a week and were charged initially £6.95. when I voiced my concern they reduced it by £2! Still steep.

Govinda's Pure Vegetarian Restaurant

10 Soho St, Soho, London W1D 3DL, UK – 020 7437 3662

I had the vegan thali. It tasted like being back in India. Such satisfying, nourishing tasty food. Very reasonably priced too, £7.50 for the thali.

Cheap but tasteful - filled with locals so you know it's good and good value. We even saw a gentleman treat a homeless person to a hot meal - great to see! Try the tasting platter to get a sense of everything.

East Street Restaurant

3-5 Rathbone Pl, Fitzrovia, London W1T 1HJ, UK – 020 7323 0860

Nice range of South East Asian dishes cooked well with good flavour. Unfortunately it's not completely authentic and can be pricey. However it's a great place for drinks and small plates to go with it.

By far one of my favourite places. Food is good and not too expensive. Service is pretty quick and you'll always find seats

Chinese Restaurants serving the Buckingham Gate area

Oriental Dragon

100 Cleveland St, Fitzrovia, London W1T 6NU, UK – 020 7387 7878

Awesome Chinese food. Really delicious dishes prepared and served properly. Space is a little hole in the wallish and service isn't special but none of that really matters when the food is so tasty and comes so fast. Surprisingly extensive wine menu, two beers, other drinks.

Interesting, wouldn't necessarily go back but have an extensive menu and is more traditional Chinese.

Red Sun

2A New Quebec St, Mayfair, London W1H 7RD, UK – 020 7723 5350

Cozy Restaurant with good food and fast service. Ask for the Chinese menu, the "normal" menu is very basic and not authentic.

The taste is good at this Red Sun (小東方)restaurant. We ordered 1.stewed beancurd with minced pork in pepper sauce(麻婆豆腐)2. water bamboo fried meat(茭白炒肉)3. noodles mixed with scallion(蔥油拌麵). The first two are recommended. While the third one is too sweet for us.

Kam Fung Chinese Restaurant

27 Red Lion St, London WC1R 4PS, UK – 020 7242 5821

Nice food, swift and polite service. What more do you want

Lovely food, massive portions

Indian Restaurants and takeaways in or near Buckingham Gate

Agra Restaurant

137 Whitfield St, Bloomsbury, London W1T 5EL, UK – 020 7387 8833

First visit. Very impressed. Non pretentious friendly understated restaurant but the food was amazing. I had the tandoori mixed grill and a saag paneer both were delicious and the chicken and lamb really tender. A group of 16 turned up but service remained attentive and polite. Will definitely return 👍😊🍽

Nice family-run place. Food was tasty and service was great. I enjoyed myself and did not go broke doing it. Also, did not have to travel all the way to Brick Lane.

Fire & Spice Indian Restaurant

4 Bryanston St, Marylebone, London W1H 7BY, UK – 020 7487 0678

Great food one of the best, love the paneer starters however the potion size on that starters slightly on low side . Mains was good.

Friendly service. Not many vegetarian options. Starters were better than the mains. None of us tried the desserts. PS: Tables are set in one (almost) square room. So if you have a loud group at the same time, you might find it very difficult to have a conversation amongst yourselves.

Amaya Restaurant grill & Bar

Halkin Arcade, 19 Motcomb St, Belgravia, London SW1X 8LB, UK – 020 7823 1166

Very well reserved fame. Quite nice Indian dishes with very creative twist. Very friendly staff ready to help you with the order and later understanding what're you getting in! Highly recommended.

Excellent meal. Not the very best I've ever had but excellent and solidly above my 4 stars. Very well served - reasonably traditional food and the smaller servings are great.

Italian Pasta and Pizza Restaurants

Giotto Italian Restaurant

Giotto Italian Restaurant, 52-54 New Oxford Street, Bloomsbury, London WC1A 1ES, UK – 020 7323 0891

Great pre theatre meal with live pianist which was a nice surprise

Melanie Italian Restaurant

4-6 Old Compton St, Soho, London W1D 4TB, UK – 020 7437 4006

Amazing food even at 11.15 pm. They close at 11.30 but still were lovely enough to offer us desserts or coffee. Thoroughly recommend as the food was beautiful and very well presented.

We loved this place! The entrees and the desserts are amazing and the staff is very friendly. I also really liked my pizza although it was a little bit too "soppy".

Bellaria Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar

71 Great Titchfield St, Fitzrovia, London W1W 6RB, UK – 020 7580 8075

Had a wonderful dinner here. Very quiet and the wine selection was spot on. I would have liked to get a seat downstairs, maybe next time.

Very good food, good service, decent wine selection. Definitely recommend.

Vegetarian or Vegan Restaurants

Mildreds Restaurant

45 Lexington St, Carnaby, London W1F 9AN, UK – 020 7494 1634

Good vegan food, friendly service. Both Mildred's locations I went to were extremely busy. Mildred's is packed at happy hour so perhaps consider coming at another time. When we came for lunch, it was still bustling but we were able to grab a seat outside. The gem salad with vegan cream dressing and smoky pecans was absolutely inspired. The classic burger was very good and the basil mayo was excellent. As some others mentioned the wait between our starter and main course was unusually long but the flavors were all there and were all right! 🙌🏼✨ thank god for vegan food in London!! 🇬🇧 I hope Mildred's is able to expand to meet the demand that is obviously here for vegan food

Great and tasty vegetarian food. The portions are large especially the mock duck dish. Cocktails and a good election of deserts on offer too. Staff were very nice. The restaurant was packed, so not the place for a quiet meal in the evening. We knew in advance that you can't book a table and waited an hour to be seated. So we had a lovely cocktail at the bar while we waited.

Tibits

12-14 Heddon St, Mayfair, London W1B 4DA, UK – 020 7758 4110

This is one of our favourite restaurants. The huge variety of vegan dishes they serve are the sort of food that is utterly delicious but you still feel kind of virtuous for eating. Love the seaweed salad, beans, quiches, and curries. After a week of eating trash and being unhealthy, coming here and munching on hearty vegetables feels so good. The desserts sort of undermine the healthiness, but are totally worth it, particularly the flavoured vegan creams which sound a little plain but are so refreshing and luscious.

Amazing restaurant with superb ambiance! We visit Tibits every time we're in London. It's great for people with allergies as well since everything is labelled per dish. Every day they have an amazing spread and a variety of different warm and cold dishes. They weigh your plate so you pay for what you eat. Great ambiance, lovely setting and one of our favourite restaurants!

Wine Bars and Cocktail Bars

Archer Street

3-4 Archer St, Soho, London W1D 7AP, UK – 020 7734 3342

I have loved coming here for years. A great little place with a small cocktail list - but always very fun, and you can always ask for something else which they're generally happy to make. I look forward to next year!

Every evening I have spent here has been special. The music combined with hospitality quite frankly is exceptional. It always attracts a friendly crowd with a passion for quality music and dance...when the staff performs it can get electrical! ...though the door staff do come across very stern

Boyds Grill & Wine Bar

8 Northumberland Ave, Westminster, London WC2N 5BY, UK – 020 7808 3344

I've had 3 meals at Boyds now and all have been very enjoyable. It;s never been crowded, service is timely and friendly. Was served some complimentary prosecco once without request and have made had many excellent wines too. Food is rather safe. Nothing experimental or unique but all is done well and of a good quality for what you pay.

I like the lounge which is great for meetings. One of the few bars around London where you don't have to shout to be heard. Good service too

The Lucky Pig Cocktail Bar

5 Clipstone St, Fitzrovia, London W1W 6BB, UK – 020 7436 0035

Nice atmosphere with great music this Saturday night good. Food tasted great but I was not impressed by the cocktails or drink options. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Would like to go during the day to see if it's any different and enjoy it in a queiter setting

Great looking place with good selection of drinks. Staff where also super friendly especially... forgot her name lol
