Mountain Warehouse Regent Street

15 Regent St, St. James's, London SW1Y 4LR, UK – 020 7839 3948

Small, stacked floor to ceiling with gear. I love popping in there and having a hunt about. Staff all cool, never had an issue.

I like MW products as I spent a lot of time out and about on walks. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. The products are durable and excellent value if on sale.

Went there with a friend who needed a new backpack. The staff at the counter were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Explaining, in detail, all of the bags many pockets/pouches/features. They also explained how to adjust and fit the bag properly and how to releave weight on certain areas. From what I was expecting (for a shop in central London) they went well above and beyond. It really shows these guys not only enjoy their work but also are interested in the great outdoors.

Fantastic range of active wear which really holds up well in inclement weather conditions. Would recommend stopping by if you're after some outdoor sports clothing

Blacks

Westgate House, 10-11 Holborn, London EC1N 2LL, UK – 020 7167 6791

Visited this store on the weekend. Whilst it took a while for a sales assistant to ask whether I needed help, when he did it was great! Really friendly, helpful, and knowledgable young man. Gave me a lot of information about the walking boot, options to get a better fit, and brought me lots of different sizes to try on. Whilst he was young and maybe less experienced with hiking and backpacking, he tried his best and it was very appreciated as a first-time backpacker myself. Good stock range but the other staff were a bit grumpy and a lot less forthcoming.

Collect from here always good

Waterloo Camping

Really good quality and reasonable priced clothing, general camping and walking gear. I visited the shop in Victoria in 1998. I still have the back pack, shoes and trousers. All in good order. Visited today, same owner and bought some more trousers. Very helpful and easy location.

Really great surplus store. Was a pleasure to rummage through great piles of authentic military stuff. Very reasonable prices. Got a great old gas mask bag for around town. Loads of proper stuff! 👍

Cotswold Outdoor London - Covent Garden

8 Southampton St, London WC2E 7HA, UK – 020 7379 3060

The staff are either really passionate and a bit OTT with the detail or seem sleepy and disinterested. The shop itself has a decent amount of outdoor gear tho it seems like it could be better laid out as the bags are almost hidden away and the women's/men's clothing blends into one.

When they are good they are very very good, but when they are bad I go to Ellis Brigham (almost next-door) instead. Variable levels of customer advice/service. Probably depends on how busy they are, or who you get. They have lost a lot of business from me by not giving me enough attention. Their loss is Ellis Brigham's gain.

Cotswold Outdoor London - Piccadilly

23/26 Piccadilly, Mayfair, London W1J 0DJ, UK – 020 7437 7399

Good selection of outerwear, shoes, and camping gear. Free cold water - hits the spot on a hot London day. Yep, it does get warm in London too!

The staff here are super knowledgeable and really friendly. They give impartial expert advice without being intimidating.
