Banks

Bank Of Ireland Corporate Banking

Bow Bells House, 1 Bread St, London EC4M 9BE, UK – 020 7236 2000

Always been a fabulous bank even though I've had no branch for 3 years, being in England. They own the Post Office so it can offer most branch services, and the 365 online is fabulous, though adding payees or changing your phone number is a bit draconian.

Nationwide

62-63 Cheapside, Cheapside, London EC2V 6BP, UK – 0800 554 0239

Modern looking branch. I didn't need to wait long, the staff that attended me was friendly and got the job done.

Recently refurbished branch, so everything is modern, clean and new. Spacious too. Have only ever spoken to one member of staff, but she seemed friendly enough.

Local Chambers of Commerce for SW1E 6HQ. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. What you put in is exactly what you get out. Below is the national site. Watch this slot - it might improve!
The Old Marylebone Town Hall

Westminster Council House, 97-113 Marylebone Rd, Marylebone, London NW1 5PT, UK – 020 7641 7500

Beautifully restored and now part of London Business School's campus

A stunning, beautifully old piece of English history! Well worth a visit! This was the former head office for Births, Deaths & Marriages in London.

Chelsea Old Town Hall

Chelsea Old Town Hall, King's Rd, Chelsea, London SW3 5EE, UK – 020 7361 2220

Exceptional service, facilities and Registrars. Couldn't of asked for anything more for our special day. Lisa & Patricia made it what it was and are brilliant at what they do!

I photographed at this venue a numerous occasions and never seems to fail impress the guests. While the ceremony rooms are beautiful and intimate, the grand reception room is absolutely stunning! The outside staircase is a great option for group shots and there are several nice spots around Kings Road for further wedding photography. Great venue, great location. Dental Surgeries

Mint Dental Centre

41 Clapham Rd, London SW9 0JD, UK – 020 7587 0100

Easily the best dentist in London! The staff are so unbelievably friendly, efficient and helpful. I’ve been having check ups here for around 4 years and last year I had braces fitted with them. Antonio provided me with great advice and a personalised program, and I am thrilled with the results. I am now pregnant and again their treatment has been excellent. If you dislike going to the dentist, then I can promise you that they make the experience much more enjoyable!

I visited Mint Dental for a check up for the second time in April 2018. I previously went in April 2017. I was really easy to get an appointment - when I called the practice I was offered an appointment within the same week and was really surprised, as I'd expected to have to wait at least a couple of weeks before anything was available, let alone at a convenient time. The practice itself is very pleasant. I was seen on time for my appointment and the dentist was very nice and efficient. I didn't need any further treatment.

Dawood and Tanner Specialist Dental Practice

45 Wimpole St, Marylebone, London W1G 8SB, UK – 020 7935 0080

Dr Saul Konviser saw my little boy today for his first dentist visit. It was an absolute dream, considering he gets quite nervous around clinical environments - he had a lovely time! Dr Konviser did not rush the process and as a consequence I'm confident he will love going to the dentist in the future. The whole team are so professional from the moment you come in the door, you feel at home. For children there are lovely facilities and toys. Couldn't be happier with the service, highly recommended!

Well equipped and reputable place for teeth implants. Would definitely recommend. It is though, one of the most expensive dental practices.

Millbank Dental Care

42 Ponsonby Pl, Westminster, London SW1P 4PR, UK – 020 7828 7676

I have been going to Millbank dental care for years and they have a great team headed by Martina Syron. I remember the first time I went in having had a bad experience with another few dentists elsewhere. Martina and her team immediately put me at ease and completely changed the way I feel about dentists. So much so, that I love going and having my scale, ultrasonic and polish, which I just had today and I'm not even nervous about filings as they explain exactly what's happening and have reassuring hand on my shoulder if I look a bit nervous :) I have had bonding work, filings, teeth whitening and referrals to hospital for tooth extraction at Millbank dental care - all have been great experiences and that's why I have no hesitation to give 5 stars! I would recommend Martina and her team any day!

Dr Martina Syron and her team are fantastic. Always welcoming, ready to put you at ease (good if you're nervous like me) and above all professional. Dr Syron is always up to date in all aspects of dental health and is willing to go the extra mile to make sure you have the best service and treatment she can possibly give you. I have been going here for over 7 years now and I can say with absolute certainty and sincerity that they will do everything they can to give you the best treatment possible along with ensuring to do it as cost effectively as possible too. They will never do any work unless it actually needs to be done. You are in the best hands here.

London Doctors Clinic Private GP

1906A, Portland House, Bressenden Pl, Westminster, London SW1E 5RS, UK – 020 8712 9378

Lovely doctors. Very helpful and understanding. Last minute appointments available easily

This is an exceptional service for people with a busy schedule or limited time in London. I am an expat and need support in managing my diabetes. The LDC has provided a fast turn around on test results, follow-up advice and issue of prescriptions, at very reasonable prices.

London Doctors Clinic

Room 101, 117 Waterloo Rd, Lambeth, London SE1 8UL, UK – 020 8712 9378

Very comfortable reception and office. Both times I've been here (once on a Saturday) the doctor actually listened, gave clear advice, and helped me with prescriptions and referrals, and to navigate how to get the further help I needed. They also stock certain basic prescriptions right there - eliminating the need for another stop at a pharmacy, which is helpful especially off-hours. Sometimes, it's worth it to invest a little for excellent service.

Good experience overall, good location. I was able to get an appointment quickly and Dr Aarti was very nice. Same day result for blood test which is great. Put a 4* and not 5 because I feel the price is quite high as compared to elsewhere.

London Doctors Clinic

101D, 18 Soho Square, Soho, London W1D 3QL, UK – 020 8712 9378

Easy to find. Easy to make online appointments. Very reasonable prices compared to most. The consultancy fee is not mentioned - so the £155 is actually £210. The men's toilets- for the urine sample - are downstairs through public areas. Results are quick, staff are friendly.

Very easy to book an appointment. The clinic is very central. The staff is very friendly and the doctors listen what you have to say and give you time to explain the situation that brought you there without rushing. The blood tests were sent on the same date that you took the samples with an email explaining the results.

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery

Queen Square, London WC1N 3BG, UK – 020 3456 7890

Whilst were sleeping, the NHS is still running and Teresa May is a mug. What was a very distressing matter, the out of hours staff ,Bussy, Nosizo and Rindai were the most helpful members of staff. It was a very personal issue and each individual from their own department ensured I got to the right place. The NHS needs more employees like those mentioned. Cannot fault them.

spent about 2 weeks here just before Xmas following a stroke. staff were amazing as were the doctors. amazing experience.

Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine

University College Hospital at Westmoreland Street

16-18 Westmoreland St, Marylebone, London W1G 8PH, UK – 020 3456 7898

My wife had surgery for her kidney stones at Westmorland hospital and I must say staff nurses ( Hannah & student nurse tayin on the 3rd floor ) and doctor Miss Allen & her team was super amazing. Also Susie & Siobhan ( senior nurses ) were great and been so helpful. I would highly recommend this hospital to everyone... so thank very much guys !!! Anil & Amandeep

Excellent medical support and treatment, outstanding hospital cafe food, best salad and best stew I've ever had and really tasty soup too. Only one glich, otherwise 5 star, I'm taking up with the fire service. 14 bin bag size bags of rubbish in the stairwell to the overnight stay bedrooms, on the first floor of 6 floors. Told that the entrance I came in was the only way out. A staff member showed me another way out, but said he wasn't meant to tell me. The manager said he shouldn't have told me!!(it's on the 6th floor! - with no fire exit notice, just a notice telling staff that they must not use this exit!). I look forward to this manager's letter, he promised within a week, after some pressure! He refused to deal with the situation, but anyone staying there, if the rubbish in the stairwell was on fire, the higher up you were, the less chance of survival, not being aware of the top exit. He said he'd speak to the fire officer who does the inspections, refused to give me the F.O's contact number or name, when I asked why, "Because he's a member of the Trust"!!!! Says he won't do anything straight away to resolve the concerns of rubbish in the stairwell (collected 4 x a day evidently), or the exits, until he's spoken to the Fire Officer. (or about confusing information about fire exits(s) or about the fire exit signage (where you follow the signage, on the floor you exit the stairwell, it doesn't show which way to turn in the corridor!). I know the manager was very busy doing year end figures, but really! REFUSING to tell or allow staff to tell where there are three possible exits, at least, rather than just the one where you came in, on the GROUND floor or sub basement!! Two other overnighters were rather relieved to know about the alternative ways out!

Church with great bible teaching and very friendly people.

Surplex UK Limited - FREE WEEE I.T. RECYCLING COMMERCIAL

Unit 15426, Box 6945 Rathbone Square, Rathbone Pl, Fitzrovia, London W1A 6US, UK – 01684 252583

I run the IT department for a large law firm (500+ desktops) and we use Surplex as the service is always fast and the drivers friendly and helpful. We like to charity donations this company make and also the data policy is first class. We have used them for about five years now and I don't think we will ever move away to someone else - there is no need. I don't normally write reviews but Surplex asked me too and, to be honest, I was only too happy to help as they've always bent over backwards to accommodate my requirements.

I have used Surplex for our IT / computer recycling from both their London office and their HQ in Malvern. They are professional, speedy and their reporting is first class. The online aspect of retrieving documentation is both fast and secure. We have a particular need for data security which is why we use Surplex, they do not wipe like some other companies we have used they actually shred hard disk drives and in fact any that carries data is treated in the same manner. Mark, the MD, is very knowledgeable and completely down to earth.

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Galvin Restaurants

19 Newman St, Fitzrovia, London W1T 1PF, UK – 020 7299 0444

Really nice dinner and really nice explosion of flavors. And really nice selection of wines!!!!! Nice if you get the recomendation of the staff

I have been to many of the Galvin Restaurants. Each of them offer a unique experience and a lovely twist of French cooking. Galvin La Chapelle is absolutely stunning and the crab lasagna is one of my favourite of the Galvin brothers’ signature dishes. Galvin HOP offers a relaxed ambiance and their Tarte flambée is delicious. The Athenaeum offers lovely afternoon tea and their bar is very stunning, a great venue for a Friday or Saturday night cocktail. I have also had the chance to venture the Galvin Green Man in Chelmsford which is less than an hour from London. Since they’ve opened, they won many awards including a Bib Gourmand and that’s not surprising. With lovely surrounding countryside, you can enjoy their Galvin’s classics, some lovely seasonal dishes or if you are in the mood even some pub grub. Definitely worth the ride! I can’t recommend Galvin restaurants enough and wish them many more years of success.

Restaurant Gordon Ramsay

68 Royal Hospital Rd, Chelsea, London SW3 4HP, UK – 020 7352 4441

Very good experience. I had dinner at Pétrus about a year earlier and now finally decided to pull the trigger on Ramsay's "flagship", and it did not disappoint. Very friendly, open, non-stiff service with staff that is very happy to chat and joke. The Menu Prestige was impeccable and takes you on a journey of tastes without going overboard with the French delicacies. The restaurant is very low-key from outside and has a nice interior that is quiet enough even when the restaurant is full.

If the food is made of the the best products which were handled with care and brought to perfection by chefs who create art the only thing you can do better is the service. BUT the Service also is at the top. Discrete, polite but omnipresent. They make you feel special without feeling uncomfortable! It seems that they read your wishes before you have them! Some words about the food. We went to the restaurant for lunch and it was the best menu I ever had! An awesome world of flavours and combinations always aiming for highlighting on a mainpart. It was a dream wich came true. Hope we'll meet again soon!

Novikov Restaurants and Bar

50A Berkeley St, Mayfair, London W1J 8HA, UK – 020 7399 4330

Food is amazing here. The restaurant is busy and has a great atmosphere. The service is epic and the fresh seafood and vegetables on display next to the working kitchen gives it a very authentic vibe. Note of caution: the waiters will move your glass to the edge of the table if you’re having sharing plates. That makes you almost certain to knock it over.

Best food ever. Quite reasonably priced. Service on point. If you're vegetarian, go for the aubergine and mozzarella starter, it's divine. The desserts are to die for. Ambience is perfect. Only downside was the 25 minute wait to be seated at the table even though we had a reservation, and the front of house girls/receptionists not having a welcoming demeanour. But the food definitely over-compensates!

I can also see how he has improved in every way. Especially he loved Mr. Michael who has been a great help for William to settle down. Unfortunatley we will be moving back to Dubai beginning of December. I would recommend your nursery to everybody and I can't be more than happy with the service you provide there. I am sure William will miss you all!!! Thank you,

Primary and Secondary Schools

Archbishop Sumner Church of England Primary School

Jubilee House, 2 Reedworth St, Lambeth, London SE11 4PE, UK – 020 7735 2781

My eldest daughter has attended this school from reception and I have been impressed by the dedication of the both the staff and governors. Music and sports provision with specialist teachers for a small primary is particularly good along with support for a range of abilities both those needing more basic support and those who need to be stretched. Only quibble is clarity and timeliness of communication; the school has both a mobile app and regular SMS updates in addition to a weekly newsletter however not always consistent and allowing sufficient time for working parents to plan. In general a welcoming and supportive environment for children, parents and staff.

Great support for kids who need it and great after school activities. It is a little small for 2 form classes though.

Walnut Tree Walk Primary School

Charterhouse Square School & Nursery

40 Charterhouse Square, London EC1M 6EA, UK – 020 7600 3805

Charterhouse Square School is founded by original headmistress Jamie Mason with school fees set at £425 per term! Over the course of the next two decades we go on to gain a reputation for all-round academic performance. In March the school becomes part of Cognita – a worldwide group of schools founded by Sir Chris Woodhead, former head of Ofsted. In December Caroline Lloyd takes over as headmistress fifteen years after first joining the school. When space becomes available in an adjacent building, the school expands to occupy a total of seven floors in our much-coveted Barbican location. This allows the school to add a dedicated Early Years area, a school library and an art room. n further work to improve the school site, the entire basement and ground floor of number 40 is completely remodelled. The addition of bi-folding glass doors to link our Green Room to its outdoor sand and water area is a particular hit with the children. Charterhouse Square School celebrates its 30-year anniversary with a surprise party for the children and a ball for parents, teachers and friends of the school. The school is also featured in The Good Schools Guide for the first time.
